Check current manufacturer documentation before combining components, especially batteries, inverters, communications equipment and system-control hardware.
Important Considerations
- Check the unit label. Confirm whether the unit is RSD-S-PLC-A (1000 V) or RSD-S-PLC-B (1500 V) and which ordering code (415001 / 415002 / 4150XX) it carries before design.
- Connectors. APsmart says using a different type of DC connector will not be covered by the warranty. Check the connector on the unit against your modules.
- Disconnect AC first. APsmart says not to disconnect the PV module from the RSD-S-PLC without first disconnecting the AC power.
- Core routing. Pass either both positive or both negative cables through a core, never one of each, and follow the core diagrams in APsmart's current user manual.
- Same AC branch circuit. APsmart's user manual says the power supply of the Transmitter-PLC and the inverter MUST be on the same AC branch circuit to meet rapid shutdown requirements.
- Inverter list. For inverters with an integrated SunSpec-certified transmitter, check the APsmart Compatible Inverters list (apsmartglobal.com), viewed Oct 8, 2026; no revision number.
- Inverter pairing. Do not assume a specific string inverter, hybrid inverter or microinverter model is listed. Check the maker's current certified list and the document revision or view date before design.
